Teaching personnel are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant for a role in a secondary school based in Coventry. This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday 8:30am – 15:30pm and will involve supporting young people with barriers to learning on a 1:1 and small group basis.

This school provides an excellent learning environment for children between the ages 11 – 16. Some of the children require tailored intervention, so you must be willing to support with this area of the role. The successful Psychology Graduate will have a theoretical understanding of Psychology and Special Educational Needs.

Applications may also be considered without a Psychology degree if you have relevant experience in:

  • Support/care work
  • Residential care work
  • Community based work

Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Psychology or a related field
  • Passion for working with young children and making a positive impact in their education
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
  • Patience, empathy and, ability to build strong rapport with pupils

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting teaching staff in the delivery of lessons
  • Delivering small group sessions
  • Providing one to one support to students who require additional help
  • Monitoring student progress and providing feedback to teaching staff

This school is based in the north of Coventry, CV7 post code. It is easily accessible via car or public transport, being only 4 miles from the city centre it is a 14 minute drive or a 20 minute bus journey.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
