Human Resources Assistant – Be a Key Part of Our People Team!
Are you ready to advance your career in Human Resources? We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Human Resources Assistant to join our HR / People Team on a 12-month fixed-term contract (maternity cover). Reporting directly to the Site HR / People Advisor in Stafford, you’ll be instrumental in supporting our shared services team in delivering a top-tier HR function.
About the Role:
- Location: Stafford
- Hours: Primarily 8 am – 4 pm (some flexibility is necessary)
- Contract: Fixed Term (12 months maternity cover)
Key Responsibilities:
As our Human Resources Assistant, you will:
- Provide support to site managers and the People Team on employee relations (ER) matters. This includes taking minutes and, furthermore, preparing supporting documentation.
- Draft various HR-related documents and case packs. For example, you will create letters for disciplinary actions, absence without leave (AWOL), and flexible working requests.
- Manage HR documentation and administrative tasks. This involves creating invite letters and also handling maternity/paternity correspondence.
- Offer initial ER advice to managers and address inquiries about HR processes.
- Maintain and update trackers with a high degree of accuracy.
- Organise and keep current HR filing systems and personnel records.
- Manage the People Team’s inbox and case log, and promptly schedule meetings.
- Generate weekly and monthly HR reports for various stakeholders.
- Assist with employee training and onboarding procedures, including conducting inductions.
- Support site-based Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest HR trends and industry best practices.
What We’re Looking For:
While experience in an HR setting is advantageous, we also welcome applications from individuals who have completed or are currently pursuing their CIPD qualification. We are seeking candidates with:
- Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels within the organisation.
- A proactive, solution-oriented approach, coupled with excellent organisational skills.
- HR-related qualifications (desirable, though not mandatory).
- A strong desire to learn and develop within the HR profession.
- The ability to effectively manage and prioritise workload.
