About This HR Manager – TV Production Role:
In this important HR Manager – TV Production job, you will work closely with our lively production companies and creative teams. Your role will be to handle HR support through all parts of making a show, from the start to its release. You will support workplaces where everyone feels included and help with learning and growth. You will also give hands-on help with Employee Relations (ER), training, and keeping track of data.
Reporting to the Executive Director, HR – Production, you will also collaborate with other teams, such as Learning & Development (L&D), Legal, Finance, Production, Safety, and IT. This ensures comprehensive support across all areas.
Key Responsibilities as HR Manager – TV Production:
- Training Coordination & Delivery:
- Help organize Spotlight on Respect (SOR) sessions for actors, directors, and crew.
- Set up training times, book places, and manage materials for both in-person and online sessions.
- Support the delivery of training and gather feedback afterward to make it better.
- Employee Relations:
- Help look into cases of harassment, discrimination, and other ER issues.
- Support the process for when jobs end, manage sick leave, and handle cases of parental leave.
- Keep ER records up-to-date and give advice on how to lower risks.
- Tools & Resources:
- Work with others on L&D and inclusion emails.
- Create learning materials and helpful guides.
- Manage different HR projects as needed.
- Data & Industry Insight:
- Keep employee and pay information current.
- Make sure we follow rules about keeping data safe.
- Track and report on what is happening in ER and what the best practices are in the industry.
Who We’re Looking For in an HR Manager – TV Production:
We need someone with:
- 5+ years of experience as an HR Manager or HR Business Partner, ideally in TV, film, or broadcasting.
- Skills in handling ER cases and leading training sessions.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to do many things at once.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and maybe Canva.
- A team-oriented and flexible way of working; a love for TV, film, and storytelling is a plus.
