Exciting Opportunity: Project Manager – High Voltage Solutions

About the Role

We are seeking a Project Manager to oversee and execute projects related to Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS), Live Tank Breakers, Hybrid Technology Solutions, and the broader High Voltage (HV) portfolio. This role involves extensive coordination with both internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure the seamless execution of projects from inception to completion. You will play a pivotal role in enhancing customer experience by taking a proactive and results-driven approach in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

As a Project Manager, you will ensure that all activities align with Hitachi Energy’s policies, contractual agreements, quality standards, health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations, as well as budgetary and financial targets. Key Responsibilities

  • Project Management: Oversee customer projects, from single-unit switchgear deliveries to large-scale, multi-million-pound GIS projects.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with factories, customers, and service teams to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Financial Oversight: Take commercial responsibility for project financial KPIs, including cost, revenue, and cash flow management.
  • Customer Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, making key decisions and ensuring satisfaction.
  • Project Planning & Execution: Develop and implement project schedules from initiation to completion.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate project risks while serving as an escalation point for critical project issues.
  • Process Optimization: Ensure compliance with best practices, company policies, and contractual agreements.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze data to create, update, and share accurate project plans and progress reports.
  • Driving Project Success: Take a hands-on approach to keep projects moving forward, ensuring timely outcomes and deliverables.

Required Background & Qualifications

We welcome applicants from various backgrounds and levels of experience. However, the following qualifications and skills are highly desirable:

  • Education: Engineering-related degree (Electrical Engineering preferred but not essential).
  • Industry Knowledge: Understanding of High Voltage switchgear and its applications.
  • Communication Skills: Fluent in English, both written and spoken, with strong negotiation skills. Additional language proficiency is advantageous.
  • Flexibility: Ability to travel within the UK for customer site visits and internationally to manufacturing facilities when required.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail.
  • Team Collaboration: A self-motivated team player who takes accountability and is committed to working collaboratively.
  • Financial Acumen: Ability to read and interpret financial statements, manage costs, and negotiate effectively.
  • Organizational Skills: A systematic, proactive approach with efficient time management abilities.
